The Damage

We finally got a sunny day and made our way out to the farm to see how we fared during all the storms and rain. Due to roads washed out and such there was a detour in one place, and in another place we just had to take turns in the one lane available. Fortunately that spot was temporarily repaired with a load of rocks by the time we were returning to the capital. The rains have been so bad that our workers all went home on Wednesday, but we expect them back Monday. Santo Domingo was spared a lot of the rain and damage, yet we still had streets like this.

The government has set up a hotline for those who need help because of problems with the hurricanes and tropical storms. This is the photo they used in the newspaper article, and I liked it so much I wanted to share it with you!
